Seven Pillars of Health

Getting cancer was a wake-up call. Here are a few lessons I took from the ordeal.

Getting diagnosed, going through the treatment ordeal, and coming out on the other side gives me a chance to change my lifestyle the very best way I can to prevent reoccurrence and promote health in general, not only for myself but also for my family and, hopefully, whoever chooses to hear me out. I researched the heck out of books, articles, blog entries about how best to achieve these goals, and I am putting it out there for you to check out. Let’s get healthier, let’s ward off disease, let’s thrive together!

When we are on the road of life, we don’t know what the future has in store for us. Even if it seems like the road is straight and simple, our goals defined and our strategies to get there set in motion, we cannot and don’t know what really lies ahead. A sharp curve, a steep hill, or an insurmountable mountain?

Is it something we realize we possess only when it is compromised or gone? According to the World Health Organization, health means “a resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. Health is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as physical capacities.” So, how to achieve it?
