A DIY sugar lip scrub with coconut oil can make such a difference to the look and feel of your pout. The dull, upper layer of the lips get gradually exfoliated, revealing plumper and more youthful lips.
The skin on our lips is very fragile, so I would not recommend scrubbing them more often than once or twice per week.

Sugar Lip Scrub with Only Edible Ingredients
This goes for skin in general, it is after all the largest organ of our body. We should not put anything on it that can cause harm by overburdening up chemically.
When it comes to our lips, it should be even more important.
Not only could the chemicals enter our bloodstream via the skin. On the lips, we can also ingest them!
There are thousands of chemicals in your products, many of which are being absorbed into your body. It’s impossible to avoid every single synthetic chemical, but you can do your part in limiting the amount of toxins your body is exposed to.

This is why I strongly believe in using only edible ingredients for anything that comes close to my mouth. For an easy sugar lip scrub, I just walk over to my kitchen and grab some clean, non-toxic ingredients that are good enough to eat.
I use organic turbinado sugar because I like the texture, but if it seems too rough for you, it is fine to use just regular, finely granulated white or brown sugar.
Generally, the smaller the sugar crystal, the less risk it might cause abrasion on the delicate skin of the lips.
The best honey to use would be Manuka honey but it is pricey, so any other raw honey will be great.
Some kinds of honey are labeled organic but technically it is not possible to label any honey organic because no beekeeper really knows where the bees got their pollen and nectar from.
Just make sure your honey is raw, this way you’ll get all the benefits of this golden gift from the bees. Honey is an effective humectant which means it holds on to moisture, thus hydrating the skin.
It is also full of Alpha Hydroxy Acids which aid in exfoliation.
Ground Cinnamon, when fresh, will aid in circulation, plumping up the lips. It also has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.
Virgin Coconut Oil has been prized for centuries for its moisturizing ability, and it is also rich in antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and generally anti-aging properties.
Sweet Almond Oil is perfect for moisturizing skin, and it also boosts circulation which might help to plump the lips.
You can add a few drops of lemon or orange essential oil for the scent but it’s not necessary.
